Quality & Testing
All our products are tested by our manufacturing partners. Just to be double-sure our products are of the highest possible quality, we also test everything ourselves in our Canberra workshop.
This rigorous testing applies to everything we stock, from filament to 3D-printed products and accessories.
Filament Testing
We currently test using 3 different popular 3D printers, including Flashforge and Bambu Lab, along with AMS testing. Our testing process closely resembles hobby and production printing to put our products through real-world testing.
We also test filament straight from the factory, along with desiccant drying and a dedicated dryer to test the product characteristics.
Most of our filaments have a ± 0.02mm accuracy, which is significantly more accurate than the widely accepted standard of ± 0.05.

Our Story
Hi, I’m Germaine, a long-time 3D printing fanatic and Canberra local. I founded LAYR after looking for 3D printing supplies in Canberra and not finding any stores that offered high-quality products at a reasonable price.
After spending a lot of time looking for the right local retailer and coming up empty, I decided to be the change I wanted to see and start LAYR. It’s my intention for LAYR to be every 3D printing enthusiast’s one-stop shop.
